More about Eze-Drive and your instructor

The 'Eze' brand, local to East Grinstead, has been established for well over 10 years, offering swimming lessons to children from 4 years up, and driving tuition for over 5 years. My teaching experience now extends to well over 25 years.

My aim is to offer the highest level of driver training, in a professional, but also friendly and personal manner. In addition to teaching the key elements in the required fields of expertise, I am also on hand to give any advice and guidance I can beyond your learning, and assist in any way possible to help improve your knowledge and skills for a safe start to your driving 'career'.

I like to set a high level of customer care to ensure satisfaction, and will give you honest and accurate feedback throughout your training.

I can also offer:

Theory training, hazard perception training, disqualification re-training, mock tests.

On successful completion of your driving tests we can also offer:

Pass Plus courses, motorway training, own car orientation sessions, refresher sessions.

The Car

The school car is a Peugeot 207s - 1.4, petrol fuelled, with 5-speed manual gearbox and custom fitted 'he-man' dual controls. It has fully adjustable seat and steering, offering optimum comfort and position for almost any student, with great all round visibility and easy manoeuvrability. Well suited to learning and improving driving skills

Also

In addition, students will receive a handy A5, easy to use information folder, to keep all their learning literature in. Don't worry, I won't be setting home study! After each key skill is covered, you will receive lesson recap information sheets. You will accumulate these throughout your training, and can use them for reference if you have the opportunity to practice outside of your lessons. If this is not possible, they are a great way to refresh your understanding before your next lesson, this cuts down on recapping and so leaves more time to get on the road when your lesson starts.

Eze-Drive is your route to driving success

What do you need to do first

If you have not already done so, you need to apply for your provisional licence before you can start. Forms can be picked up from your local post office, direct from the DVLA or even completed on-line.

Remember, you have to pass a theory and a practical test to gain your full licence.

Books, DVD's and CD-ROM are available at many local stores to help you with learning your theory and, of course, you can also get help during your driving lessons.

The tests

There are two parts to the theory test - 50 multiple choice questions and a hazard perception video clips test.

You will have 57 minutes for the multiple choice section and you must answer at least 43 correctly to pass.

The hazard perception section will have 14 video clips with 15 developing hazards for you to identify. You must achieve a minimum score of 44 out of a possible 75.

Unfortunately, if you only pass one section, you will have to take both again.

How many lessons am I likely to need

The big question! It will come as no surprise to you to hear that different people will need different amounts of training. Nationally, the average is approximately 45 hours of training with an instructor, with around 20 hours of private practice with another appropriately licensed driver. Some students need a little more, especially if they have no opportunity to practice in a private car, but then again, on occasion some require much less.
